I hand pick the most beautiful ingredients to go into my Pomegranate & Rose Mask.
These are not the latest 'must have' ingredients based on some celebrity fuelled craziness. Instead these are my favourite plant power -house ingredients that will comfort and nurture your skin.
All my magic plant oils combine occlusive and emollient properties. That means skin softening, nourished, comfortable skin while helping to reduce trans-epidermal water loss. (TEWL). What you end up with is water trapped against your skin and smooth, elastic feeling, comfortable skin
My ingredients include:
Apricot Oil - a light feeling oil packed full of phytosterols which give anti-inflammatory benefits, as well as barrier repair support.
Bakuchi oil - which is a very interesting ingredient which retinol similar properties. Extracted from the seeds of the Psoralea Corylifolia plant, it contains an antioxidant called Bakuchiol which studies have shown can improve skin texture, reduce skin discolouration and most importantly soothe skin, and is extremely gentle on the skin.
Beeswax - Providing both emollient and occlusive properties, this natural wax is nourishing, protecting and anti-bacterial. This type of beeswax has been designed to give the soft, pillowy, gel feel of the mask.
Coconut Oil in the right proportions provides antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties to the skin.
Cozenayme Q10 - an antioxidant which in studies has seems to improve the appearance and texture of skin. It is also sometimes known by the name ubiquinone.
Jojoba - One of my favourites - a skin softening, easily absorbed, light oil, very similar to the sebum found in our own skin. Suitable for all skin types, including problem, oily and combination skins.
Pomegranate Oil - a luscious plant oil that delivers hydration and skin soothing properties. Antioxidant and fatty acid rich, particularly suited to older, drier skin types.
Rose Damascena Flower Oil - The queen of flowers, possessing almost magical qualities and an exquisite scent. The fragrant oil comes from the petals of damascena roses, which are harvested by hand in the early morning when they contain most oil. Used through out time immemorial, it is particularly prized for its skin rejuvenating properties, containing over 500 different chemical components. It takes over 60 roses to produce just one drop of rose otto flower oil, which explains its potency - and also its price!
Spilanthes Acmella Flower Extract - this little beauty is all all about more moisturising, softening and firming. An extract from the buds of the flower.
