These are not the latest 'must have' ingredients based on some celebrity fuelled craziness. Instead these are my favourite plant power -house ingredients that will comfort and nurture your skin.
All our magic plant oils combine occlusive and emollient properties. That means skin softening, nourished, comfortable skin while helping to reduce transepidermal water loss. (TEWL). What you end up with is water trapped against your skin and smooth, elastic feeling, comfortable skin
My ingredients include:
Amaranth Seed Oil C02 Extract - I include this powerful C02 botanical extract because is great for supporting smooth and hydrated skin, and added bonus, it calms irritated, itchy skin.
Argan Oil - My pure, cold pressed Argan Oil is rich in inflammation busting essential fatty acids and is suitable for both dry and oily, skin types.
Beeswax - Providing both emollient and occlusive properties, this natural wax is nourishing, protecting and anti-bacterial.
Calendula C02 Extract - Healing and anti-inflammatory, one of nature's best healing ingredients. Skin protecting and soothing, especially on skin that is irritated.
Camellia Oil - A light feeling, easily absorbed plant oil, which is a superb moisturiser. I include it for its moisturising and repairing properties, and because it is well tolerated amongst my customers with sensitive skin.
Chamomile, Blue - This beautiful blue essential oil distilled from chamomile flowers, and I have added tiny amounts here because it contains Bisabol and Chamazulene which help with irritated, sensitive skin.
Coconut Oil in the right proportions provides antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties to the skin.
Frangipani Flower Extract - the extract from the frangipani or plumeria flower provides a beautifully uplifting and relaxing scent.
Jojoba - One of my favourites - a skin softening, easily absorbed, light oil, very similar to the sebum found in our own skin. Suitable for all skin types, including problem, oily and combination skins.
Marshmallow Root Oil - This is all about more hydrated skin, and my customers love it. My oil is made with the roots of the Marshmallow plant macerated in Sunflower Oil, A deeply hydrating oil that helps maintain the hyaluronic acid levels in the skin, while soothing and calming itchy, irritated skin.
Shea Butter - this butter from the nut of the African Mangifolia tree contains allantoin, a powerful occlusive agent. My customers love the deep hydration this butter brings. Shea Butter can be irritating to skin in large quantities; I use just enough to strike that balance between moisture and being well tolerated by my customers with sensitive skin.
Spilanthes Acmella Flower Extract - this little beauty is all all about more moisturising, softening and firming. An extract from the buds of the flower.
